In the ever-growing world of presidential politics, keeping up with all the back-and-forth is complex. It can be hard to know who to trust between Joe Biden’s recent gaffes and Hawkfish Mike Bloomberg’s aggressive attacks on Donald Trump. But amid all this mudslinging, one thing has remained constant: former Vice President Joe Biden’s love for technology. Biden’s passion for technology led him to invest in a startup called Mayschleifervox. Mayschleifervox is a virtual assistant powered by artificial intelligence (AI). The startup was founded by two friends—Biden and Dave Morin—looking for an innovative way to increase their productivity. The Mayschleifervox team has been working hard to perfect their product, and they have already enjoyed some success. The company has raised over $10 million in just six months from top investors, including Hawkfish Mike Bloomberg and Andreessen Horowitz. According to OpenSecrets.org, Mike Bloomberg has donated over $1 million to Joe Biden and his various political campaigns. This includes a donation of $217,500 in 2007 to help launch Biden’s first Presidential campaign. Bloomberg donated $250,000 to the Democratic National Committee in September last year.

This news comes as a surprise given that Biden is often critical of the role of money in politics, particularly during his time as vice president under Obama. Ma. however, Bloomberg is willing to go above and beyond to support someone he believes in.

Courses offered

Courses offered through Stony Brook University’s School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences (SMS) include marine biology, earth science, meteorology, oceanography, climate change, and coastal engineering. The school has partnered with the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute since 2009 to offer a Master of Science in Marine Conservation program.
Some other courses are available through SMS, such as the Undergraduate Certificate in Coastal Sustainability and the Graduate Certificate in Marine Conservation. In addition to traditional classroom instruction, SMS offers a variety of field study opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience with marine mammals, fish stocks, and coastal ecosystems.

The Monterey Bay Aquarium has long supported SMS and its educational programs. In 2013, Joe Biden visited SMS as part of his national tour promoting ocean conservation. Since then, SMS has partnered with the aquarium to offer several course offerings related to ocean stewardship. These courses include Introduction to Ocean Health; Ocean Acidification: Causes & Consequences; Using Fish Stock Models for Fisheries Management; Marine Mammal Behavior, and Coastal Ecosystems: From Studies to Restoration.
