Windows 11 also brings a variety of updates to the gaming experience, including Auto HDR, which automatically enhances games built with DirectX 11. Microsoft is also working on new features to improve the Xbox line of consoles, including the upcoming Xbox Series S and X.

Start button moved to the middle of the taskbar

The Start button has been moved to the center of the taskbar in Windows 11 to improve accessibility. Microsoft designers have been working on the new interface for years. The company has said that it will continue to support Windows 10 until 2025, so you have plenty of time to switch. However, not all PCs will be compatible with Windows 11 at launch. If you want to see if your PC can handle Windows 11, check out this tool from Microsoft.

Start menu is cloud powered

The Start menu in Windows 11 is cloud powered and features a transparent effect and rounded corners. It features a universal search bar and includes the ability to see recent files. Previously, the Start menu featured large, square Live Tiles, but now features a more modest grid of app icons. The Start menu also offers the ability to reorganize the icons. You can use the search bar to look for apps or files on your computer and can even sort them by type.

Cortana has been removed

If you’re looking to disable Cortana on your PC, you can do so in a couple of ways. One method involves modifying the Group Policy Editor’s refresh interval. It is important to note that the actual refresh interval may vary from one computer to the next. In either case, you will want to open the command prompt as an administrator. Once you’ve done that, simply type in the command ‘allowcortana’ in the Command Prompt.

PC health check app

If you want to run a health check on your PC, you can download the free Microsoft PC Health Check app from the Microsoft website. This app allows you to check the health of your PC and gives you a list of different health reports. Once the app is installed, you can access it from the Start menu or by going to the Windows Security app. Once the app is installed, you can click the Start menu button and select the PC health check option.

Running Android apps

Running Android applications on Windows computers is now possible, thanks to a new feature called Your Phone. The Your Phone feature was developed by Microsoft, in collaboration with Samsung, but it is currently only available on devices made by Samsung. Intel and Samsung worked together to design the Galaxy Book Pro laptop, which lets you use the features of your Samsung Galaxy phone on your PC. However, you should note that you can only run Android apps in a separate window on your PC.
